Mass for B-flat Clarinet and Organ (2021)

I was asked to write a piece that addresses the development of the relationship between the Church and the LGTBQIA+ community. As a cisgender, straight man, I had reservations about composing this piece because I did not want to offend or misrepresent the LGTBQIA+ community. After reflecting on my own experiences as a practicing Catholic with family in the LGBTQIA+ community, I decided to write this piece to urge others, especially Christians, no matter your religious beliefs, to just love one another. If you truly believe in the teachings to love your neighbor as yourself, then who are we to do anything otherwise? For anyone in my life that is LGTBQIA+, I love you completely with no ifs, ands, or buts. Mass for Bb clarinet and organ consists of five movements. All proceeds from sheet music sales from this piece will be donated to "TheTrevorProject" (www.thetrevorproject.org) and/or other charities that support the LGBTQIA+ community.
