Pedagogical Research

Dr. Francisco Javier de Alba’s expertise focuses on the interdisciplinary intersection between clarinet pedagogy and linguistics. As a musician with a multicultural background, he grew up with multiple languages in his household. This inspired his passion for learning how language can impact his students. His research aims to account for the diverse backgrounds that his students come from and their various perceptions of the world in order to create an environment of equality and inclusiveness in his studio.
